Model A has always had the intention of creating exciting music that would appeal to the general public yet push enough boundaries to raise eyebrows in the niche indie scene. The sound, called "indie-electro art rock" by some and "psychedelic prog space rock" by others, combines the latest in musical technology and innovation with vintage inspired grooves, overall vibe and resonance.  Make no mistake, this isn't your Dad's Sing Along with Mitch record.  This is the new wave, kids. Soaring over his dark synth arpeggiators is singer Brandon Schilling's elevated tenor. You cannot forget the sound of his haunting vocals.  Populating the psychedelic soundscapes is guitarist PatrickWilson, whose vast array of pedals and rack gear affectionally named "the death star" usually drops a few jaws before folks even hear a note. His style varies between lead, rhythm and textural ambience at a moment’s notice and often leaves the listener guessing what could possibly come next. The foundation of the band is the unstoppable rhythm section of drummer Brennan Rose. Brennan’s style can only be described as a total blur, switching between jazz influenced poly-rhythms, four on the floor rock, and mind-blowing tom-tom fills, often within the course of a single song.Although plagued with lineup changes and only releasing an EP in the first 3 years of their career, Model A solidified and began to take off greatly when the six track CD, “Transmission Lost” was completed in 2004, which ventured through several styles in which Model A excels even going as far as throwing in vacuum cleaners as soundenhancement, and generated some attention in the progressive market with a placement in iTunes essentials under "Modern Prog" with the likes of Mars Volta and Porcupine Tree and earned highly rated reviews in many online circles and press mags.  In 2005, two national tours and a singleentitled "Chic" followed to an equally enthusiastic response, even as the band had to dodge hurricane Katrina and hiked gas prices. Now in 2007, Model A is about to release their fourth album in March titled,"Reactionist" either under their label First Modulation or under the umbrella of a as yet unnamed larger indie.  More on that as thesituation develops. While the band is extremely proud of the studio efforts, it is their live shows where Model A truly takes form. Extreme precision of playing is combined with loose-form jamming and experimentation on stage. Some aspects of the songs change from show to show that evolve the music with every performance. As often as possible, Model A's live show is complemented with the amazing lighting effects of John Sonderegger and his company, The Rainbow Atomic Prism Lightshow. Their light show incorporates the classic oil light effects of the 60's with the addition of modern digital technology. The combination is a visceral, mind bending experience.  Do not miss this up and coming band in 2007.
